Environment

Goulburn Mulwaree Council is commited to enhancing and protecting the environmental well being of our community.

Goulburn Mulwaree residents are fortunate to enjoy fresh, clean country air, good quality water and nature reserves bustling with fauna and many plant varieties.

Indeed, it is these various natural qualities, combined with an ideal location close to the coast and two major Australian cities, which make our city and surrounds increasingly appealing to new residents, particularly our city cousins.

Council has various programs spread across the entire organisation relating to the creation of a quality natural environment. These encompass a wide range of areas and include:

  • noxious weeds control
  • water quality
  • stormwater management
  • animal control
  • waste management, with an emphasis on recycling
  • enforcement of environmental legislation
  • noise, air and water pollution
  • Landcare programs
